Our personal development intent is simple. We want children to be:
WELL INFORMED, to be able to make SENSIBLE CHOICES and to become INCLUSIVE CITIZENS of the world.
We do this in so many ways in school, because we know that it is really important. Our driver for personal development are our school family values, alongside our well-being curriculum, forest school and therapeutic offer.
We deliver knowledge that is IMPORTANT to Valley Park children through 4 themes:
- Physically Healthy
- Mentally Healthy
- Valley Park Citizens
Through these themes, we cover all the statutory curriculum elements, but we also teach children empathy, kindness, cognitive science and communication skills - all so important for the future.
The Personal Development Lead in school is Mrs Katie Hall, Deputy Headteacher.
